Hamilton Boiler Works Ltd. was established in 1913 and has been family operated ever since. Our customers are diverse and varied and we have been servicing the Industrial, Manufacturing, Institutional, Commercial, Construction, Marine, Food and Beverage and Greenhouse Sectors for decades.

Gas and Oil Burner Technicians

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid TSSA G1 or G2 certificate
  • Valid TSSA OBT1 or OBT2 certificate
  • Inter-provincial or out of Country equivalent certifications will be considered
  • Ideally 3 years experience minimum
  • Valid drivers license in good standing
  • Ability to lift or move 50lbs/22 kgs
  • Ontario issued Covid vaccine certificate
  • Sound knowledge of boiler and burner equipment, heating systems, controls, wiring and trouble shooting, TSSA requirements and B149 Code
  • Team player
  • Hand tools
  • Proficient in English

Job Description

  • Responsible for start-up and servicing commercial and industrial oil and gas fired boilers and burner related equipment.
  • Responsible for preventative and scheduled maintenance, trouble shooting, installation, and repair of gas and oil burner systems in a wide range of businesses
  • Repair and service commercial and industrial oil and gas fired boilers and burners.
  • Advise customers on service issues and requirements and solutions
  • Safe operation, testing and verification of all equipment
  • Conduct and maintain the highest standard of safety in all activities and operations ensuring compliance with the regulatory bodies and relevant regulations.
  • Provide “on-call” emergency service
  • Complete and maintain proper documentation for billing and service management
  • Works independently in the field and is responsible for managing time spent on various tasks
  • Maintains a proper image both personally and professionally with the company service vehicle
  • Completes petroleum and gas system inspections as required by law
  • Understands and complies with Company Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Help estimate, cost equipment and materials to complete each service project
  • Familiarity with parts and advises on parts and inventory required for service
  • Promote a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

GTAW/SMAW Welders/Fitters

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Ontario provincial welding and safety certificates.
  • Inter-provincial or out of Country equivalent certifications will be considered
  • Proven experience as a welder
  • Valid drivers license in good standing
  • Ability to lift or move at least 50lbs/22 kg
  • Sound knowledge of welding positions and techniques
  • Competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
  • Experience in using electrical or hand tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Team player
  • Hand tools and Welder’s helmet
  • Proficient in English

Schedule

  • Typical 8-hour day shift – Monday to Friday
  • Overtime as required
